Circus

Orange-man-circusCircus has today become one of the broadest and most experimental art forms in use. There is no limit to the talents and skills that can be embraced in the creation of New Circus. It's this open and inclusive attitude that really makes New Circus so exciting and puts it at the forefront of cutting edge performance art.

Through this open and encouraging attitude Jestival create a place for anyone and everyone in our educational workshops. Participants 'play' as they are taught stilt walking, juggling or balancing on a tight-wire and fun becomes a springboard for learning.

Emerging from the work of Circus practitioners has come the term 'Social Circus'. This lies at the heart of Jestival's provision through celebrating personal achievement, positive interaction, enterprising behaviour and improving social skills.

We don’t teach juggling. We teach people to be patient with themselves while they learn to juggle. Kevin O’Keefe, 2000
